Ac Hotel Ponferrada By Marriott

We visited the Bergidum Theatre and the Ponferrada Town Hall, both were super close and easy to explore. The staff were friendly and offered great recommendations. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast and appreciated the clean rooms. Remember, the parking is tricky, so expect to find space nearby.

One downside was the Wi-Fi-it was pretty poor, so if you need to work or stream, plan accordingly.

Good location, 5 mins walk from the historic centre of Ponferrada. Very attentive and friendly staff. Comfortable mattress.

The room was very small...it's true that it had a wide balcony, but it wasn't facing south, so it didn't have many hours of sun. In the bathroom there was no disposable toothbrush, it is true that it is not mandatory, but for the price of the room it should be included. My complaint is negative towards the room for the price, as it was 110 euros a night, and I found a very small room, a toy dryer and no toothbrush. They took advantage of the pull of a well known MTB march, and spent raising the price for what it is, a simple room of about 50 euros/night. When I got home I realized that I had forgotten my mobile phone charger there, I wrote them an email and I'm still waiting for the answer after more than two weeks.

We spent one night here on our way to the Costa da Morte and made a stop here to rest. It was a good idea because access to the hotel from the A6 motorway is very easy and there are also several service stations for refuelling. It is even easy to find free parking in the area and hotel has a loading and unloading area for guests and a car park in front of the hotel. As if that were not enough, five-minute walk takes you to the city centre, where you will find cash machines from all the banks. hotel area is very quiet. person who attended us in reception when we arrived was very kind and explained to us, on the map of the city, everything related to the gastronomic theme. Otherwise the rooms were very clean, it was wide, some with balcony, beds very comfortable. we did the ckeck-out everything was also easy. We did not hire breakfast. price/quality ratio was good. recommendable.

Maybe he could use a remodel of the bathroom because he no longer takes the bathtub and should change it for a shower tray because the truth is that I was quite limited in and out to shower, but this did not detract from anything.

Staying at this hotel was great because it's just a short walk to several attractions like the Museo De Las Cofradias De Semana Santa and the beautiful Basilica Nuestra Senora de la Encina. Plus, the service was efficient and the rooms were clean.

The twin room was fabulous, had a mini bar fridge, air conditioning, and a work desk. The staff were pleasant and exceptional, their services were exceptional. The location was easy, not very far from Castillo de Ponferrada Castle.

It was just a proper fit for a couple of nights in Ponferrada with good value. Breakfast was nice, especially the coffee. Bring a light jacket for the breakfast area since it can get chilly.

The hotel is located near the entrance and has a good garage (costs not a little, but we were with a trailer on the way and this was perfect).

The bar/restaurant was mostly staffed with only one person. Often nobody could be found.

Consider asking for a room away from the street to reduce noise from traffic and nearby celebrations.

loud synthesizer music in the bar or at breakfast. The suitcases had to be hauled up some stairs at the entrance. The fan of the air conditioning clattered, windows could not иу open because of the busy street (noise).

The staff at the reception (Mrs. Susane) was extremely friendly. She made us feel welcome.

The parking is a hassle, as it's not in the same building as the hotel, requiring a long walk with your luggage. I found the breakfast offering to be quite underwhelming for a four-star hotel, lacking pleasant options. Lastly, the room insulation was inadequate.

One of us is a wheelchair users. While this site states it is accessible the bathrooms including the bathroom door are not wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair. So no access to the bathroom for one of us.

The free mini bar was a very nice touch, shame it had only soft drinks but you can't really complain!

Having the towel rack above the bath / in the shower was a bit odd; form over function!
